This article presents a literature review about Palmyra Wanderley's life and legacy, renowned writer, and journalist from Rio Grande do Norte in the beginning of century XX. Knew as the first feminine voice to settle in the press and literature from Rio Grande do Norte, Palmyra performed a signifcant role in the consolidation of cultural spaces for women of her time. Based on contemporary authors and historical documents, this article explores the Palmyra´s contributions in the context of modernist literature and strengthening of local press.
