This article investigates the importance of self-teaching in the educational process, establishing a fundamental distinction between attending classes and studying. The research emphasizes that studying is a personal and non-transferable decision. Through a bibliographic review, the work analyzes the contributions of several authors on autonomous learning. The results indicate that self-teaching is an essential skill for effective learning.
